Green toys

There are lots of dangerous substances in children's toys and that's why I was so happy to read yesterday that a Stockholm-based mother of three has started her own company that sells chemical-free toys.

Madeleine Lime got the idea for Ekoleko after she realized that her eldest son got allergies from playing with his toys. She currently holds 800 products in her webshop, and among them are building blocks made of mais and sun-powered toys. Most of the products are made in Germany and the ones made of wood are made of scrap wood. She also tries to avoid having her toys wrapped in plastic and they are transported in an environmentally friendly way. Something for Christmas maybe? Until next time, live green!
