What happens if the ice melts?

Yesterday, I typed into Google: "What happens if the ice melts?" Most of the information I found talked about rising sea levels. But in my mind I kept thinking that if all the ice melts doesn't that eventually lead to no new water or recycled water making its way to rivers, lakes and oceans? And what will happen to all the various streams (i.e. Gulf Stream) and rainfall? Could the whole eco-system come to a standstill?
