The magical powers of spirulina
My husband makes the most delicious smoothie. It is a concoction of garlic, lime, broccoli, chocolate (90 percent) and all kinds of seasonal fruits. To top it off, he adds a teaspoon of spirulina.
Since starting this morning routine a year ago, I haven't been sick once. And every time I feel that I'm coming down with a cold, it magically disappears. Is it the spirulina, I ask myself, or the combination of both (the fruit and the blue alga)?
I don't know the answer but I do know that my father, who used to be a real health trend sceptic, takes four spoons of spirulina every day and has no plans of stopping.
