Sweden's new crusade

ICA's free "Good & Green" magazine
Yesterday I picked up a free magazine from my local grocery store with lots of delicious vegetarian recipes. I believe the initiative is part of Sweden's new crusade to make us eat more fruit and vegetables.

According to ICA, a leading grocery chain in the Nordic countries and the publisher of the magazine, eight out of 10 Swedes eat less than the recommended 500g per day, which is about three fruits and two portions of vegetables. And to be honest it's not that hard to believe that we are bad at  eating our greens. My husband says he didn't eat fruits and vegetables regularly until his 30s, and he's probably not alone.

Anyhow, I got really estatic when I discovered the free magazine because I've been searching Stockholm for an appealing vegetarian cookbook for ages with no luck. So, this sexy little thing was a welcoming initiative and, at least for now, it saves another poor book from being forgotten in my bookshelf.

Until next time, live green!
