Hail to kale
Always fun to make something from scratch! |
My teacher at the nutrition course I attended a year ago told me that kale contains a lot of vitamin C, which makes a whole lot of sense knowing that we who live in northern hemisphere haven't always had access to exotic fruits, such as oranges. We have lived on kale and survived and done so quite successfully for centuries.
According to recent research, kale lowers the risk of getting certain cancers and supports the body's detoxification system. And when it comes to the levels of vitamin C, 100 grams of kale contains 37 milligrams of the vitamin which is 48 percent of recommended daily intake. I just say: hail to kale!
